I believe using Social Media is a privilege that much of the world takes lightly and sometimes can forget the importance of responsible usage. If a platform can't help me spread a story in a way I feel is effective or responsible, than I do not use it. For some, I simply don't need to. This is my explanation to people who ask why I don't use platforms like TikTok and Snapchat. For the platforms I do use, I utilize for a different purpose.

Almost three billion people use FACEBOOK around the world. While I understand why as well as acknowledging the vast amount of features, I personally don't utilize it as many do. For me, Facebook is my road game broadcasting platform. I use Facebook Live to broadcast to my audience of parents, friends, and more. The platform has proved be a reliable and universal option that has created tons of memories.

INSTAGRAM is the ultimate marketer. People market goods, locations, and even themselves on the platform. Personally, I use Instagram as a place for two different purposes. 1) to share my personal and journalistic life and 2) promote my podcast. I am the owner of both a personal account and the official Podcast account. Both of these places are great for showcasing my design, editing, and interview work.

LINKEDIN is a professional networking platform. Some of the best advice I got in my late high school years was to begin building my profile in addition to networking on the site. I realize that I am a high schooler and my role right now is to be an observer and not a trend-setter. Because of that, a lot of what I do is pure observations. I like to see great ideas and mold them into my own.

TWITTER/X can sometimes be a site where professionalism goes out the window. To avoid experiencing this trap, I have had limited interaction with it, but I realize as a diverse journalist I have to be able to utilize platforms you may not enjoy as much, thus this section. Through my work with IONYOU Media, I have tweeted out match updates of Sporting KC, and the short, quick messages gave me a taste of what many of the journalists I know do during an event.

YOUTUBE is my video portfolio featuring my demo reels, game commentaries, and more. I want people who are interested in my work to see it first hand on my channel. I put a lot of my work on there, good and stuff that is not my favorite. The reason I put games that I was not a huge fan of is to show the growth and commitment that I have to get better.
